Note from Mommy & Daddy

Hey everyone! Well, we just wanted to say a quick hello to all of you that read Abby's blog. So many of you write or call us and tell us how much you enjoy hearing about her daily activities. And truth be told, we get a kick out of writing her "diary" entries and picking the pictures to post. We wish we could post all the ones we take because some are priceless beyond words! Anyway, lots of you have asked for an update about specifics, so - here goes:

(1) Weight - 19 pounds 4.5 ounces

(2) Length - 28.5 inches (top of head to heel)

(3) Hair - All the black hair she was born with has fallen out (including her little dark "duck tail") and it's replaced with reddish blond hair...the color all depends on the way the light is hitting it!

(4) Wake up time - She's usually up each morning somewhere in between 6:00 AM and 6:30 AM

(5) Naps - She loves to nap and takes about 4 a day...(a) the first is about 1 hour after she wakes up, she takes about a 1 hour nap (b) the second is a mid-morning nap about an hour (c) the third is about a 2 hour nap in the afternoon and (d) the last is right after dinner for about an hour. She still loves to sleep with her two middle fingers (of her left hand) in her mouth, while clutching the corner of a blanket (with her right hand) and holding it next to her face. She usually goes straight to sleep and sleeps heavy - and of course all through the night.

(6) Bath time - She gets her bath around 7:30 each night....both of us give the bath so it's a real family time experience. We end it with a massage (from Mommy) and then bed time bottle (from Daddy). Because of her eczema, we stopped using most of Johnson's products and use Aveeno's creamy wash. And we massage her with Cetaphil. The skin problems are all but gone and her back/neck looks good.

(7) Bottle - She's completely off the bottle and loves Nuby sippie cups.

(8) Food - Her daily eating schedule is like this: milk in the morning right when she wakes up, Stage 2 breakfast (she loves apples & blueberries), milk in mid-morning, Stage 2 lunch (she loves all veggies), milk in mid-afternoon, Stage 2 dinner (she loves turkey tetrazini), milk at bed time. She does not like juice. She loves her baby puff snacks.

(9) Favorite toys - some soft square play blocks she got at Easter, her Disney princess cell phone, her t.v. remote control, her football and football player (stuffed animals), all of her Sesame Street baby books.

(10) Clothes - She's wearing a size 12 months.

(11) Her favorite things to do - (a) Dance/Sing - if you put on some fast music she will move up and down, wave her arm and "sing" out loud (she loves the song "The Ant March" and "Teddy Bear Picnic) (b) watch golf on t.v. (c) "low crawl" and roll around the den floor (d) she still love love loves bath time - she tries to drink the water when it sprays on her (e) anything outside - she loves just walking to the mailbox, sitting on the back deck swing and even opening up the door and checking on Mr. Sun!

(12) Talking - She says a few things that are true words. Her favorite is "Da-dee" (a.k.a. Daddy) to Eric. She says that at least three or four times a day. We only hear "Maaaam" (a.k.a. Mom) about twice a week. Sometimes she says "bye" - truly when someone is leaving or not there...we think she just hears us saying it to each other every morning and picked up on it. And she's constantly making noises that sound like words but are just sounds!

We can't really think of anything else that people have asked about - but if there's something we didn't cover, we'll gladly add more later on...just let us know! All in all, we think she's perfect - as if our daughter would be anything less, ha ha ha!

And thanks to everyone that's been voting for Abby on the Cutest Baby/Kid Contest. She's been going up and down in the polls and we are just so thankful to those of you that are helping her be a part of this contest! You are all sooooo great to us and we love you for it! (And if you haven't voted...feel free to do it now! Ha! www.dothaneagle.com)

Love, Barbara and Eric
